SB1135 by Watson (Relating to the operation of public transit vehicles equipped with connected braking systems.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Transportation Code to exempt certain automated public transit vehicles with connected braking systems from existing provisions of the code related to following distance.

According to the Department of Transportation (TxDOT), no fiscal impact to the agency is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

According to TxDOT, while the bill could affect local transit entities that own and/or operate buses the agency cannot determine any fiscal impact to these entities.

According to Capital Metro, the bill would have no fiscal impact to the agency.
