IN RE:
SB1177 by Menéndez (Relating to offering certain evidence-based services in lieu of other mental health or substance use disorder services by a Medicaid managed care organization.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to allow a Medicaid managed care organization to offer certain medically appropriate, cost-effective, evidence-based services from a list approved by the State Medicaid Managed Care Advisory Committee in lieu of mental health or substance use disorder services specified in the state plan. The bill would also require HHSC to prepare and submit an annual report on the number of times during the preceding year one of those services is used. It is assumed implementing the provisions of the bill would not have a significant fiscal impact.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
