IN RE:
SB1258 by Buckingham (Relating to the prosecution of limited liability companies and other business entities under the Penal Code.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Penal Code to include limited liability companies and other business entities organized under the Business Organizations Code within laws that impost criminal responsibilities on corporations and associations.
According to the Office of Court Administration, while increase in caseloads resulting from provisions of the bill are not anticipated to be significant; therefore, no significant impact to the state court system or court cost revenues are anticipated. This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill addressing felony sanctions for criminal offenses would not result in a significant impact on state correctional agencies.
Local Government Impact
Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
