SB1414 by Hancock (Relating to fees regarding a residential tenant's failure to timely pay rent. ), As Passed 2nd House

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Property Code to modify the procedures used by landlords to calculate certain late fees that may be charged a residential tenant due to timely failure to pay rent.  The bill would also establish a definition for a allowed reasonable late fee, subject to certain conditions.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
