SB1491 by Perry (relating to civil liability of a nursing facility resident's responsible payor for misappropriation of the resident's funds.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Health and Safety Code to create a cause of action to allow a nursing facility to sue a responsible payor under certain circumstances provided in the bill.

Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration and Health and Human Services Commission, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
