IN RE:
SB1593 by Rodríguez (Relating to training by the Texas Department of Transportation on the recognition and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of persons.), As Engrossed
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Transportation Code to require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to develop and make available to TxDOT employees a training course on the recognition and prevention of smuggling and trafficking of persons. The bill would require TxDOT to collaborate with the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to establish the content of the training.
Based on the analysis of TxDOT and OAG, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the agencies' existing resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
