IN RE:
SB1691 by Fallon (Relating to expedited processing of certain applications for a license to carry a handgun; waiving a fee.), As Introduced
The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time due to lack of information regarding the number of applicants for License to Carry (LTC) a handgun to which the provisions of this bill would apply.
The bill would amend statute to expedite the application for a license to carry a handgun of an individual who is protected under an active protective order and exempt such an individual from application fees.
While the number of applicants is unknown, it is assumed that the Department of Public Safety can implement the provisions of this bill within existing resources.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2019.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
