No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to authorize when a clerk may request a court to make a finding in a civil case that a cost or fee is uncollectable if the cost or fee has not been paid for at least 15 years and identifies the courts for which this authorization is applicable. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
