IN RE:
SB1793 by Zaffirini (Relating to purchasing and contracting by governmental entities; authorizing fees.), As Introduced

The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time.

The bill would amend Chapter 2155 of the Government Code, regarding general rules and procedures for purchasing. The bill would require the Comptroller to provide a state agency with certain rebate information for purchases under the multiple award schedule. The bill would remove requirements that the Comptroller report that information to federal funding agencies.

The bill would amend Chapter 2171 of the Government Code, regarding travel and vehicle fleet services, to allow an officer or employee of a local workforce development board or of a governmental entity to participate in the Comptroller's contract for travel services.

Based on analysis by the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the amount of fee revenue, with any fees charged not to exceed costs incurred, that would be collected by the Comptroller for travel services is unknown. The fiscal impact cannot be determined.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
