TO:

FROM:

Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1806 by Rodríguez (Relating to the issuance of Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal specialty license plates.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Transportation Code, Section 504.3161, to require the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to issue specialty license plates for recipients of the Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal.

There would be no additional fee for a set of specialty license plates authorized by Section 504.3161. Pursuant to Transportation Code, Section 504.202, DMV would also be required to produce a Disabled Veteran specialty license plate that includes the emblem from the new Nuclear Deterrence Operations Service Medal plate. Based on the information provided by DMV, it is assumed any costs associated with implementation of the bill could be absorbed within the agency's existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
