No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code to allow Texas Commission on Environmental Quality staff to access criminal history reports through the Department of Public Safety and to perform business background checks of persons that apply to the agency for an occupational license or permit. Based on information provided by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
