No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Parks and Wildlife Code related to taking sand, gravel, marl, shell, and mudshell from the San Jacinto River and its tributaries by the San Jacinto River Authority and the Harris County Flood Control District. The bill would take effect immediately with a two-thirds vote, otherwise on September 1, 2019.
Based on analysis of the Parks and Wildlife Department, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Association of Counties, no fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
