No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to expand the circumstances when parties to certain criminal offenses are allowed to offer testimony or other evidence of all relevant facts that would assist a judge or jury in determining whether the defendant committed the offence to include all offenses for which the alleged victim has a dating or family relationship to or association with the defendant. Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by utilizing existing resources.
