IN RE:
SB2260 by Flores (Relating to the grant program distributing money from the transportation infrastructure fund.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend provisions in Subchapter C, Chapter 256 of the Transportation Code, relating to grants for county transportation infrastructure projects from the Transportation Infrastructure Fund (TIF). The bill would allow in-kind contributions to be a source of local matching funds required to be eligible to receive a grant from the TIF.
Based on the information provided by the Texas Department of Transportation, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant fiscal impact to the State.
Local Government Impact
The Texas Association of Counties anticipates a positive fiscal impact on counties that provide in-kind contributions. However, the extent of that impact cannot be determined.
