The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $177,289.
The bill proposes amending the Texas Constitution to provide that on the retirement of a dog owned and used by a county for law enforcement purposes, the county may transfer ownership of the dog to the dog's handler at no cost to the handler. The bill provides that the amendment will be placed on the November 5, 2019 general election ballot, and it provides the ballot language.
