HB1374 by Hernandez (Relating to grants for the development and operation of pretrial intervention programs for defendants who are the primary caretaker of a child.), As Introduced

The provisions of the bill addressed by this analysis would amend the Government Code as it relates to grants for the development and operation of pretrial intervention programs. Under the provisions of the bill, the community justice assistance division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice may award grants to certain entities for the development and operation of pretrial programs for defendants who are the primary caretaker of a child.
 
This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or the demand for state correctional resources.
