Pursuant to a notice posted on September 20, 2019, the House Committee on Redistricting met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative King, Phil, at 11:43 a.m.

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives King, Phil; Turner, Chris; Cole; Krause; Larson; Leman; Minjarez; Paddie; Price; Rose; Thompson, Senfronia; Walle; and White.

A quorum was present.

The committee met at Texas Southern University, Roderick R. Paige School of Education, Education Auditorium, located at 3100 Cleburne St, Houston, TX 77004. 

Representative Dutton, Representative Allen, Representative Reynolds, Representative Wu, Representative Miller, Representative Rosenthal were also in attendance. 

Interim Field Hearing on 2021 Redistricting

The committee heard invited testimony and received a presentation from the Texas State Demographer and Texas Legislative Council.

Public testimony taken/registration recorded.  (See attached witness list.)

At 3:13 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
