Pursuant to a notice posted on January 27, 2020, the House Committee on House Administration met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Geren, at 10:00 a.m.
The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Geren; Howard; Anderson, Charles "Doc"; Flynn; Parker; Sherman, Sr.; and Thompson, Ed.
A quorum was present.
The committee met in a public hearing to consider the budget for the new House Select Committee on Driver’s License Insurance & Renewal, the House Select Committee on Statewide Health Care Costs, and the Interim Study Committee on Aggregate Production Operations.
The Chair made a motion to pass the budget.
Representative Flynn seconded the motion.
The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Geren; Howard; Anderson, Charles "Doc"; Flynn; Parker; Sherman, Sr.; Thompson, Ed (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Anchia; Ortega; Sanford; Thierry (4).
The committee considered amending the Committee on House Administration budget to include an item for Capitol Nurse Services in the amount of $10,000.00 and to approve the acceptance of a grant of $10,000.00 from the Texas Academy of Family Physicians for that purpose.
The Chair made a motion to accept the amendment and approve the grant.
All present committee members seconded the motion.
The motion prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Geren; Howard; Anderson, Charles "Doc"; Flynn; Parker; Sherman, Sr.; Thompson, Ed (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Anchia; Ortega; Sanford; Thierry (4).
At 10:04 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
