Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 8:07 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Huffman assumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out SB 907.  Senator Hughes moved to reconsider the vote by which SB 907 was reported favorably to the full Senate during the April 15, 2019, Senate Committee on Administration meeting.  Without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

Senator Hughes sent up a committee substitute and the chair recognized Senator Hughes to explain the difference between the committee substitute and the senate bill as filed.

 

The chair laid out SB 907 and recognized the author, Senator Hughes, to explain the bill.  Senator Hughes sent up a committee substitute.

Senator Hughes moved the adoption of the committee substitute.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hughes moved that SB 907 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do not pass but that the committee substitute adopted in lieu of do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 6 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 1 absent.  Senator Hughes moved that the bill be recommended and certified for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hughes resumed the chair.

 

The chair laid out the list of bills recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar to be held on April 26, 2019, at 9:00 a.m.

 

Senator Huffman moved that the list of bills be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar to be held on April 26, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. be certified.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 8:17 AM Senator Huffman moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
