The chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 590 by Senator Watson. Senator Nichols moved adoption of the committee substitute. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Nichols moved that SB 590 do not pass but that the committee substitute to SB 590 do pass and be recommended to the full senate. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. Senator Nichols moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair laid out as a matter of pending business SB 645 by Senator Birdwell. Senator Nichols moved that SB 645 be reported back to the full senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. The motion carried with a record vote of 7 ayes, 0 nays, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. Senator Hancock moved that the bill be recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Senator Hancock resumed the chair.

 

A Motion in Writing requesting unanimous consent to be shown voting aye was submitted by the following: Senator Creighton on SB 590, SB 645, SB 928, SB 988 SB 1210. SB 1232, SB 1494, SB 1531, SB 1821, SB 1822, SB 1823, and SB 1939; Senator Paxton on SB 590 and SB 645. These votes are reflected in the final vote on the aforementioned bills.

 

 

There being no further business, at 8:40 AM Senator Hancock moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
