Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources & Economic Development was held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Pat Fallon, Senator Juan Hinojosa, Senator Bryan Hughes, and Senator Borris Miles.

 

The chair welcomed the members of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Economic Development, introduced committee staff, and recognized the members of the Committee to introduce their staff and make opening remarks.

Senator Zaffirini moved adoption of the committee rules. There being no objection, it was so ordered.

 

The chair called the following agency representatives to provide invited testimony on the following agencies: the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Railroad Commission of Texas, and the Texas Workforce Commission (see attached witness list).

 

There being no further business, at 10:39 AM Senator Zaffirini moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
