A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to a study on mold contamination in housing developments |
|
|
supported by financial assistance administered by the Texas |
|
|
Department of Housing and Community Affairs. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. (a) In this section, "department" means the |
|
|
Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs. |
|
|
(b) Using existing resources, the department shall conduct |
|
|
a study on the number of incidents and causes of mold contamination |
|
|
in housing developments that are wholly or partly supported by |
|
|
financial assistance administered by the department. |
|
|
(c) Not later than November 1, 2022, the department shall |
|
|
prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that |
|
|
summarizes the results of the study conducted under this section |
|
|
and recommends a course of action for preventing and remediating |
|
|
incidents and causes of mold contamination in housing developments |
|
|
that are wholly or partly supported by financial assistance |
|
|
administered by the department. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act expires November 1, 2023. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|
|
last day of the legislative session. |
