R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ted D. Matthews is being honored on September 11, |
|
2021, for more than a decade of dedicated service as chief executive |
|
officer of Eastland Memorial Hospital; and |
|
WHEREAS, A passionate advocate for rural health care, Ted |
|
Matthews has served in the field for 20 years and as the CEO and |
|
administrator of Eastland Memorial since 2010; under his |
|
leadership, the licensed, 52-bed facility has opened two new health |
|
care clinics in Eastland County and is expanding the hospital |
|
service programs provided to residents; moreover, his efforts have |
|
helped Eastland Memorial earn a Four Star rating for patient |
|
satisfaction and high marks for overall quality; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to his work for the hospital, |
|
Mr. Matthews chairs the TORCH Foundation board and serves on the |
|
Texas Hospital Association Retirement Plan Board and the Tobacco |
|
Settlement Permanent Trust Account Administration Advisory |
|
Committee; in 2018, he received the Gordon Russell Merit Award, |
|
which recognizes outstanding achievement by rural and community |
|
hospital administrators, from the Texas Organization of Rural and |
|
Community Hospitals; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mr. Matthews holds a bachelor's |
|
degree in business administration from The University of Texas at |
|
Austin and an MBA from Oklahoma City University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ted Matthews has proven himself to be a dedicated |
|
champion of rural health care in Eastland County and throughout the |
|
region, and he may indeed take well-deserved pride in his |
|
exceptional record of achievement; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Ted D. Matthews for |
|
his exemplary service as CEO of Eastland Memorial Hospital and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his |
|
important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Matthews as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
