R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Independent business owners play an important role
  in cities across the Lone Star State, and Huy Hoang Nguyen and Ngoc
  Tram Thi Chu are truly deserving of special recognition for their
  contributions to the cultural and economic vitality of their
  community; and
         WHEREAS, This husband-and-wife team own two successful
  businesses, the Creamery Teahouse in Sugar Land and Tram's Teahouse
  in Houston; strong advocates for Asian culture in the Houston area,
  they have been members of the Vietnamese Culture and Science
  Association, and they have provided invaluable support to such
  events as the Korean Festival Houston, the Vietnamese Festival, and
  Asian Night Market; and
         WHEREAS, In addition, Mr. Nguyen and Ms. Chu have served as
  sponsors of Feed Fort Bend Front Line Workers, which was
  established during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide meals from
  locally owned restaurants to first responders and hospital staff;
  they have also participated in such events as the Sugar Land Holiday
  Lights, and they have promoted political engagement by hosting a
  town hall; and
         WHEREAS, Texas communities draw strength from the civic
  participation of such dynamic entrepreneurs as Mr. Nguyen and
  Ms. Chu, and the couple may reflect with pride on their efforts to
  make the Houston area an even better place for all; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Huy Hoang Nguyen
  and Ngoc Tram Thi Chu for their contributions to their community and
  extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Nguyen and Ms. Chu as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
