R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, August 6, 2021, marked the 60th wedding anniversary |
|
of Al and Frances Luna of Rosenberg, providing a fitting |
|
opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together as |
|
husband and wife; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Luna grew up in the same neighborhood |
|
and they both attended Lamar Consolidated High School; they began |
|
seeing one another following their graduation, and after only one |
|
date, Mr. Luna asked for his future wife's hand in marriage; |
|
although she initially declined, Mr. Luna eventually won her over, |
|
and the couple exchanged wedding vows at Our Lady of Guadalupe |
|
Church in Rosenberg on August 6, 1961, after the groom returned home |
|
from serving in the United States Army; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Luna have nurtured a |
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
addition of two children, Vanessa and Michael; their family has |
|
also grown to include four beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, |
|
Magdalene, and Riannah; and |
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. Luna |
|
worked as an international sales coordinator for an oil exploration |
|
company, while Mrs. Luna was employed with the Veterans |
|
Administration for seven years and with the U.S. Customs Service |
|
for another three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past six |
|
decades, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant in |
|
their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love has |
|
enabled them to meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace |
|
and optimism; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Al and Frances |
|
Luna on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere |
|
best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Luna as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
