R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The 50th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly |
|
|
cause for celebration, and Irfan Motiwala is reaching that |
|
|
significant milestone in his life on September 12, 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born in Mumbai, India, in 1971, Mr. Motiwala and his |
|
|
brother Sajid immigrated to the United States in 1992, and they soon |
|
|
began working in a small jewelry store in Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Inspired by his role model, Warren Buffett, |
|
|
Mr. Motiwala and his brother saved enough money to open their own |
|
|
store, starting with a kiosk in Houston; in 1997, they opened Regal |
|
|
Jewelers in Victoria, and the business continues to thrive today; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An American citizen since 2013, Mr. Motiwala is also |
|
|
the co-owner of Alings Chinese Bistro in Sugar Land; when he is not |
|
|
busy with his various enterprises, he delights in reading, watching |
|
|
movies, and hanging out with his children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With the passage of another year, Irfan Motiwala may |
|
|
reflect with great satisfaction on his many achievements, and it is |
|
|
a pleasure to join his friends and loved ones in honoring him on |
|
|
this memorable occasion; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Irfan |
|
|
Motiwala on his 50th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Motiwala as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
