SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize August Pahmiyer on the occasion of his 100th birthday,
  which is being celebrated on August 26, 2021; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman is well known for
  his integrity and generous spirit, and he is a revered citizen of
  our state; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Pahmiyer served the nation with distinction
  in the United States Army in World War II as a member of the 821st
  Tank Destroyer Battalion; he earned four Bronze Stars for his
  actions in battles across Europe; and
         WHEREAS, He has been blessed with a wonderful family; his
  children, Janet and David Long, and his stepchildren, Mary Lou
  and Paul Kenjura and Clarence and Jill Gerke, are a source of much
  pride and joy for him; and
         WHEREAS, He has lived through times and experienced events
  that many people only know through history books, and much can be
  learned from the wisdom he has gained over the years; beloved and
  respected in his Brenham community, he is a member of Saint
  Paul's Lutheran Church, and his faith and his enthusiasm for
  living each day to the fullest is a source of inspiration to
  others; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to August
  Pahmiyer and extend to him best wishes for a memorable 100th
  birthday celebration; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as a memento of this milestone in his life.
