SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Willie Lonnell Galloway, a cherished
  citizen who recently passed away after a long and trailblazing
  life of service to his community; and
         WHEREAS, Willie Galloway was born in Newton County on
  April 5, 1947, and he moved with his family to Dallas while still
  a toddler; he graduated from Hamilton Park High School in 1965;
  and
         WHEREAS, Willie attended Henderson Junior College, North
  Texas State University, and East Texas State University, and he
  excelled as a collegiate basketball player; in 1968, he joined
  the United States Air Force, and he served with distinction as an
  aircraft radar operations technician and earned the rank of E-4
  Sergeant; and
         WHEREAS, After his military service, he began working as a
  mail clerk for the United States Postal Service, and in 1973, he
  was recruited as one of the first black firefighters hired by the
  Dallas Fire Department; he earned numerous distinctions during
  seven years of service at Station 15, and he went on to become one
  of the first black inspectors hired in the Dallas Fire Inspection
  Division; he retired from public service in 1992, and he enjoyed
  17 years of success as the founder and owner of CleanTex
  Janitorial Services; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Galloway married Lisa Frazier-Galloway in
  2007, and together they established and operated CleanTex Green
  Services; he was the proud father of three daughters and was
  blessed with grandchildren, stepchildren, and
  stepgrandchildren; he served as an usher at Concord Church, his
  spiritual home for many years; and
         WHEREAS, Willie Galloway enjoyed traveling, spending time
  with family, and giving generously to his local community; he was
  beloved by many, and he leaves behind memories that will long be
  cherished by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Willie Lonnell Galloway;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Willie Galloway.
