SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the staff and volunteers of the San Antonio Stock Show
  and Rodeo on their success with the 2021 rodeo season and their
  contributions to Texas education; and
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo was founded
  on a core mission of generating funds for the youth of Texas;
  money raised through the show's annual events is returned to the
  community through scholarships, grants, and funding for student
  programs; and
         WHEREAS, Since its inception in 1984, the rodeo has raised
  $232 million in funds that have helped to educate more than
  12,000 young citizens; currently, 1,500 students who attend
  colleges and universities in Texas benefit from these exemplary
  efforts; and
         WHEREAS, The rodeo's 6,000 volunteers worked carefully to
  plan and facilitate the 2021 event in the face of the COVID-19
  pandemic; they faced unprecedented challenges again when the
  February snowstorm hit, yet they succeeded in ensuring the safety
  of animals and guests, and they continued on with events when the
  skies cleared; stock show personnel are proud that their
  incredible efforts led to $9 million in contributions to Texas
  education in 2021; and
         WHEREAS, The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is a true gem
  of Texas culture and tradition, and all who contribute to its
  ongoing success are indeed deserving of special recognition;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize the staff and
  volunteers of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo for their
  commitment to Texas education and their outstanding efforts to
  ensure the success of the 2021 rodeo season; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the show as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
