SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  join Vanguard Academy in honoring the lives of those who
  tragically died during the September 11, 2001, attacks on our
  country; and
         WHEREAS, On that infamous day, 2,983 innocent people died
  in what remains the deadliest act of terrorism in United States
  history; the unprecedented attacks in New York City, at the
  Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania left the world in a state of shock
  and united our country's citizens in collective grief; and
         WHEREAS, Vanguard Academy in Pharr is hosting a
  Remembrance Ceremony on September 11, 2021, to pay tribute to
  those who died 20 years ago and to honor our nation's first
  responders; memorial poems will be recited and local first
  responders who stand ready to protect and serve today will be
  given recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Vanguard Academy students are creating a field of
  flags in remembrance of each of the 9/11 fallen heroes; the
  memorial event is a public ceremony and attendants will include
  the school's students, teachers, administrators, and staff, as
  well as first responders, veterans, and members of the community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Vanguard Academy
  for hosting a 20th Anniversary of September 11, 2001, Remembrance
  Ceremony and ask that citizens across the state join in
  observance of this solemn anniversary; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
  honor of the Vanguard Academy memorial event.
