Amend HB 161 (house committee printing) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____.  HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMISSION: GENERATORS FOR ASSISTED LIVING. (a) The amount of $200,000,000 is appropriated to the Health and Human Services Commission for the two-year period beginning on the effective date of this Act from money received by this state from the Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund (42 U.S.C. Section 802) established under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (Pub. L. No. 117-2) and deposited to the credit of the Coronavirus Relief Fund No. 325 for the purpose of making grants to assisted living facilities licensed under Chapter 247, Health and Safety Code, for the purchase of backup electric generators for the facilities.

(b)  Each appropriation made by another section of this Act is reduced in an amount proportional to the total appropriations made by this Act so that the total amount of appropriations made by all other sections of this Act is reduced by $200,000,000.
