R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Wiseman of Liberty High School in Frisco has |
|
been named the recipient of the 2021 James F. Veninga Outstanding |
|
Teaching of the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The state affiliate of the National Endowment for |
|
the Humanities, Humanities Texas works to improve the quality of |
|
classroom teaching, support libraries and museums, and create |
|
opportunities for lifelong learning; one of only 15 teaching |
|
accolades presented annually by the organization, the Outstanding |
|
Teaching of the Humanities Award is reserved for the educator who |
|
receives the highest rating from the Humanities Texas award |
|
committee; and |
|
WHEREAS, A 13-year veteran of the Frisco Independent School |
|
District, Ms. Wiseman joined Liberty High School in 2015, and she |
|
has since taught gifted and talented humanities courses, as well as |
|
AP U.S. history and world history; admired for her inclusive |
|
teaching style, she has helped numerous students acquire the skills |
|
they need to become informed and engaged citizens; and |
|
WHEREAS, The education of young Texans is of paramount |
|
importance to the future of the Lone Star State, and Sarah Wiseman |
|
has set a standard of excellence to which all in her profession may |
|
aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sarah Wiseman |
|
on her receipt of the 2021 James F. Veninga Outstanding Teaching of |
|
the Humanities Award from Humanities Texas and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Wiseman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
