R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Virginia and Robert Lee |
|
|
Martin celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on August |
|
|
5, 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin were joined in matrimony in 1961 |
|
|
at First United Methodist Church in Jacksboro; over the years, they |
|
|
have been blessed with a fine family that includes their two |
|
|
children, Karen and her husband, Mike, and Keith and his wife, |
|
|
Tamara, as well as three grandchildren, Worth, Kayla, and the late |
|
|
Carter Thornton; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Proud alumni of Jacksboro High School, Mr. Martin is |
|
|
a member of the Class of 1960 and Mrs. Martin graduated the |
|
|
following year with the Class of 1961; they both went on to attend |
|
|
Tarleton State University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Martin have enjoyed six decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Virginia and |
|
|
Robert Lee Martin on their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to |
|
|
them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Martin as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
