R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dr. Coy Holcombe is retiring as superintendent of
  the Eustace Independent School District in June 2022, providing a
  fitting opportunity to reflect on his contributions to education
  during an exceptional career that has spanned nearly four decades;
  and
         WHEREAS, Since joining Eustace ISD as superintendent in 2001,
  Dr. Holcombe has worked tirelessly to ensure a challenging and
  comprehensive curriculum for the 1,600 students served by the
  district; among his many achievements, he oversaw the completion of
  a $13 million bond package that included new classrooms for the high
  school, middle school, intermediate school, and primary school
  campuses; moreover, he has ushered in a number of technological
  advances; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Holcombe began his career as a teacher and coach
  with the Groesbeck Independent School District in 1984; he went on
  to hold those same positions for Mart ISD and then served as
  superintendent for Evant ISD before taking the helm of the Eustace
  district; and
         WHEREAS, Widely respected by his peers, Dr. Holcombe was
  honored as the 2011 Regional Superintendent of the Year by the
  Region 7 Education Service Center; a graduate of Texas Tech
  University, he earned his master's degree in education
  administration from Tarleton State University and his doctorate in
  education from Baylor University; and
         WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Dr. Holcombe the opportunity
  to spend more time with his family and to travel with his wife,
  Laurie; and
         WHEREAS, Eustace ISD has benefited immeasurably from Coy
  Holcombe's skilled and visionary leadership, and his contributions
  will be remembered and appreciated for years to come; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Dr. Coy
  Holcombe on his retirement as superintendent of the Eustace
  Independent School District and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Holcombe as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
