R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, No words can diminish the pain caused by a life cut |
|
short, but all who shared in the love and friendship of Bryan Edward |
|
Shea of Humble may find comfort in their treasured memories of this |
|
special young man, who passed away on September 24, 2021, at the age |
|
of 35; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of William Shea and Wanda Jennings Shea, |
|
Bryan Shea was born in Clear Lake on August 14, 1986, and moved to |
|
Humble on his first birthday; he grew up with the company of a |
|
brother, Thomas, and graduated from Humble High School, where he |
|
was a manager and spirit leader for the soccer team; and |
|
WHEREAS, While a student at the University of Houston, |
|
Mr. Shea served as an intern in the district office of State |
|
Representative Dan Huberty through the UH Civic Houston Internship |
|
Program; his many responsibilities included constituent relations, |
|
and he helped an 87-year-old woman keep her house when threatened |
|
with foreclosure by a homeowners association; after completing his |
|
bachelor's degree in political science, he maintained his |
|
engagement in civic life, serving with the Friends of Dan Huberty |
|
campaign; he was an ardent supporter of Second Amendment rights and |
|
had the ability to clearly articulate his strong convictions on a |
|
variety of matters; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Shea gained early experience as a file clerk at |
|
the Patterson, Boyd, and Lowery law firm in Houston, and he provided |
|
transportation for patients of MD Anderson Cancer Center; later, he |
|
was employed by the Texas Medical Center; he was an avid fan of UH |
|
sports, including football, basketball, baseball, and soccer, and |
|
he enjoyed spending time with his friends, who will miss his |
|
ever-present smile; and |
|
WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Bryan Shea |
|
leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |
|
richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |
|
place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
Bryan Edward Shea and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn |
|
his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bryan |
|
Edward Shea. |
