H.R. No. 88
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The members of the Fort Bend City Council pitched in
  to help a young farmer cover the expenses of his participation in
  the Junior Livestock Show at the 2021 Fort Bend County Fair and
  Rodeo; and
         WHEREAS, Johnny Bolek, a 16-year-old local high school
  student, raised a goat for the livestock show, hoping to qualify the
  animal for auction; proceeds from the sale of an animal at the show
  go toward a college scholarship; and
         WHEREAS, When Mr. Bolek's goat did not make it to auction,
  the members of the Fort Bend City Council each personally
  contributed $100 to buy the goat and help the young man cover his
  expenses; the goat, whose name is Fred, was donated to the petting
  zoo at River Pointe Church in Richmond; and
         WHEREAS, The Fort Bend City Council includes Mayor Joe R.
  Zimmerman and council members William Ferguson, Jennifer J. Lane,
  Suzanne Whatley, Naushad Kermally, Stewart Jacobson, and Carol K.
  McCutcheon; and
         WHEREAS, The generosity of these caring public servants has
  made a positive difference in the life of Mr. Bolek, and their
  kindness is truly deserving of special recognition; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the members of the
  Fort Bend City Council for their contributions to their community
  and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Fort Bend City Council as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
