R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Myong Chong of Fort Worth was named as the 18th |
|
|
president of the Federation of Mid-South Korean Associations, an |
|
|
organization that serves Korean Americans throughout a five-state |
|
|
region, in 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Federation of Mid-South Korean Associations, or |
|
|
FEMSKA, is dedicated to promoting the activities of Korean American |
|
|
associations in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Mississippi, |
|
|
Arkansas, and Louisiana; through its support, FEMSKA is making a |
|
|
positive impact in the lives of the Korean Americans who are served |
|
|
by these organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Our state benefits immensely from the professional |
|
|
achievements of Americans of Korean descent who are working to |
|
|
build a brighter future for their families and communities, and the |
|
|
leadership of President Chong will greatly help the Federation of |
|
|
Mid-South Korean Associations to advance its important mission; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor the Federation of |
|
|
Mid-South Korean Associations for its contributions to the |
|
|
community and extend to Myong Chong sincere best wishes for a |
|
|
successful tenure as president; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for FEMSKA as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
