R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sergeant Calvin Williams Jr.
  demonstrated remarkable dedication and skill during his service
  with Task Force Americas of the Defense Logistics Agency in the
  aftermath of Hurricane Ida in the fall of 2021; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Williams has been a resolution specialist
  with the DLA Energy Americas East team since 2016, and he
  specializes in working with vendors and tracking the distribution
  of fuel during emergencies; deployed to Louisiana in advance of
  Hurricane Ida, he shuttled between three different FEMA Incident
  Support Bases and played a vital role in coordinating the delivery
  of hundreds of thousands of gallons of fuel with nearly 100 trucks;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born in Gary, Indiana, Sergeant Williams enlisted in
  the U.S. Army in 2005 and trained as a petroleum supply specialist;
  he has served with an air reconnaissance battalion in Germany, as a
  noncommissioned officer with the 361st Civil Affairs Brigade, and
  in a variety of roles at the 1-289th Training Support Battalion in
  Houston, among other deployments; his decorations include three
  Army Achievement Medals, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National
  Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army
  Reserve Components Achievement Medal; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Sergeant Williams enjoys the
  love and support of his wife, Elene, and his four children, Jaiysha,
  Leasia, Joshua, and Jonathan; and
         WHEREAS, Through his expertise, professionalism, and
  commitment to service, Calvin Williams has greatly benefited his
  fellow citizens in a time of crisis, and he may indeed reflect with
  pride on his valuable contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Staff Sergeant
  Calvin Williams for his service during Hurricane Ida and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for continued success in his important
  work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Sergeant Williams as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
