R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, LGBTQIA+ communities across the state have greatly
  benefited from the dedicated efforts of Rebecca Marques, who
  currently serves as the Human Rights Campaign Texas State Director
  for Project One America; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Marques joined HRC in 2018, and she has since
  worked tirelessly to advance the organization's mission of
  supporting equality and ending discrimination against LGBTQIA+
  communities; her many contributions have included campaigning for
  political candidates and advocating in behalf of LGBTQIA+ Texans at
  the State Capitol; and
         WHEREAS, Prior to working with HRC, Ms. Marques served as a
  political strategist for the American Civil Liberties Union of
  Texas, where she led statewide efforts in support of LGBTQIA+
  communities and reproductive rights; in addition, she served as the
  Florida campaign organizer for Oceana's Climate and Energy
  Campaign; she holds a bachelor's degree in political science from
  the University of Central Florida; and
         WHEREAS, Rebecca Marques has demonstrated a deep commitment
  to building a better future for LGBTQIA+ communities in Texas and
  beyond, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her many noteworthy
  accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Rebecca Marques for
  her service to LGBTQIA+ communities and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success in her important work; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Marques as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
