R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Libby Gonzales of Dallas has distinguished herself
  through her exceptional work as an advocate for the transgender
  youth community in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Since 2017, Libby and her parents, Frank and Rachel
  Gonzales, have made numerous trips to the State Capitol to testify
  at hearings before members of the Texas House of Representatives
  and the Texas Senate; an effective communicator, Libby has offered
  valuable and eloquent input on legislation concerning transgender
  students such as herself, and her story has been shared by national
  TV stations; Libby's parents advocate for treating all transgender
  children--at home, in school, and in their community--with
  equality, acceptance, and respect; and
         WHEREAS, By courageously speaking out on urgent legislative
  issues, Libby Gonzales has helped ensure that the voices of
  transgender students will not be silenced, and she is a source of
  inspiration to numerous people in the Lone Star State and beyond;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Libby Gonzales for
  her advocacy in behalf of the transgender youth community in Texas
  and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her
  important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Libby Gonzales as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
