A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
relating to lawsuits against businesses that require proof of |
|
COVID-19 vaccination or post-transmission recovery. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 161.0085, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
|
(f) This section does not create a private cause of action |
|
against a business for legal or equitable relief. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act applies to an action filed on or after |
|
the effective date of this Act or pending on the effective date of |
|
this Act. |
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|
legislative session. |
