SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Michael Taylor Dodd, who died August 14,
  2021, at the age of 23; and
         WHEREAS, Michael Dodd was an exemplary citizen and a
  dedicated young man whose outstanding service as an emergency
  medical technician allowed him to fulfill his calling in life to
  help others in their times of need; and
         WHEREAS, Michael was born on July 29, 1998, in Houston; he
  attended Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, where he earned a
  diploma and his emergency medical technician basic
  certification; and
         WHEREAS, He went on to earn his National Registry
  Paramedic Certification from Houston Community College in 2019;
  he began his career by briefly serving at American Medical
  Response before taking a position at the Memorial Hermann Katy
  Emergency Room; he later joined Austin County Emergency Medical
  Services to serve in his first 911 position, while continuing to
  also serve at the emergency room; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, kindness, and good humor,
  Michael gave unselfishly to others, and he will long be
  remembered for his generous spirit and vivacious personality by
  all who were privileged to share in his life; and
         WHEREAS, He was a source of strength and joy to his family,
  and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
  his family members and countless friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Michael Taylor Dodd; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Michael Dodd.
