SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 95
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Dale Moran
 
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with
  the passing of the Honorable Dale Edward Moran of Whitehouse on
  September 30, 2020, at the age of 76; and
 
         WHEREAS, The son of Kenneth and Cleo Moran and brother of
  David, Patrick, Paul, and Michael, Dale Moran was born in
  Stewardson, Illinois, on July 5, 1944; during his youth, he took
  on a number of jobs in his hometown, and he participated in the
  Boy Scouts of America; and
 
         WHEREAS, After graduating from high school in 1962,
  Mr. Moran enrolled in Miracle Valley Bible College in Southern
  Arizona, where he later held three summer tent revivals; he went
  on to join the college as a professor and dean of students, and he
  played an instrumental role in establishing another location in
  Tyler; he subsequently served as the administrator at East Texas
  Bible College, and in the mid-1980s, he became the general
  manager of the Reverend R. W. Schambach's ministry; he further
  distinguished himself as a Sunday school teacher and pastor; and
 
         WHEREAS, Mr. Moran served three terms as mayor of
  Whitehouse and two terms on the city council, and he contributed
  to a number of initiatives, including Keep Whitehouse Beautiful
  and an advisory board for local nursing facilities; he was also
  appointed to the East Texas Regional Review Committee by Governor
  George W. Bush in 1996; and
 
         WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur as well, Mr. Moran
  founded Moran Munchies in 1989, and his son, Patrick Moran,
  joined the company soon after; today, the business is known as
  Moran Refreshments, and it has become one of the largest
  independent vending companies in East Texas; and
 
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Moran benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, the former Marjorie McCall,
  with whom he shared a rewarding marriage that spanned five and a
  half decades; in addition to Patrick, they were blessed with
  three other sons, Christopher, Daniel, and Nathaniel, and a
  daughter, the late Shannon Moran; over the years, Mr. Moran had
  the pleasure of welcoming into his family 16 grandchildren and a
  great-grandson; and
 
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his
  community, Dale Moran earned the lasting respect and admiration
  of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of the Honorable Dale Edward Moran and extend heartfelt sympathy
  to his family and many friends; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Dale Moran.
