Amend SB 604 (house committee report) by adding the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering the SECTIONS of the bill accordingly:

SECTION ____. Subchapter M, Chapter 375, Local Government Code, is amended to read as follows:

Sec. 375.262. DISSOLUTION BY PETITION BY OWNERS. Except as limited by Section 375.264, the board shall dissolve the district on written petition filed with the board by the owners of at least [two-thirds] 55 percent of the assessed value of the property subject to assessment or taxation by the district based on the most recent certified county property tax rolls.
