AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

Although recent legislation has established Holocaust Remembrance Week in Texas public schools, the state currently does not include International Holocaust Remembrance Day in its list of recognition days. H.B. 2728 seeks to remedy this issue by establishing a day of recognition for International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27.

H.B. 2728 amends current law relating to the designation of January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
