AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Under current law, the Governor's EMS and Trauma Advisory Council is made up of 19 members from various professions relating to emergency services and trauma care. Ambulatory surgical centers (ASC) provide patients with a lower cost option for certain surgical and procedural services.
S.B. 1763 amends the Health and Safety Code by adding a representative of ASCs to the council, making it a 20-member council. Adding a representative of ASCs makes the council more representative of the current health care options.
As proposed, S.B. 1763 amends current law relating to the composition of the Governor's EMS and Trauma Advisory Council.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
