A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the provision of certain services by the Kerrville |
|
|
State Hospital to a crisis stabilization unit operated on hospital |
|
|
grounds. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) The [local mental health authority shall contract with] |
|
|
Kerrville State Hospital shall [to] provide food service, laundry |
|
|
service, maintenance service, utility service, and lawn care at no |
|
|
cost to the local mental health authority operating a crisis |
|
|
stabilization unit on the grounds of the Kerrville State Hospital |
|
|
as provided by this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act, the Kerrville State Hospital and a local mental health |
|
|
authority operating a crisis stabilization unit on the grounds of |
|
|
the hospital shall revise any contract involving the provision of |
|
|
services described by Section 551.009(c), Health and Safety Code, |
|
|
as amended by this Act, as necessary to comply with that provision |
|
|
as amended. |

|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
