A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to school district compliance with certain school safety |
|
|
measures; providing an administrative penalty. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 37, Education Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 37.219 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 37.219. REPORT OF NONCOMPLIANCE WITH CERTAIN SCHOOL |
|
|
SAFETY MEASURES. (a) The center shall report to the agency if a |
|
|
school district fails to comply with a requirement under any of the |
|
|
following provisions: |
|
|
(1) Section 37.108(a), (b), or (c); |
|
|
(2) Section 37.109; |
|
|
(3) Section 37.207(b); or |
|
|
(4) Section 37.2121(d). |
|
|
(b) If the agency receives a report under Subsection (a) of |
|
|
a school district's failure to comply, the agency may impose an |
|
|
administrative penalty against the district in an amount not |
|
|
greater than the amount of the annual salary of the district's |
|
|
superintendent. |
|
|
(c) The commissioner may adopt rules as necessary to |
|
|
implement this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
