A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the definition of business day for purposes of the |
|
|
public information law. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 552.003, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subdivision (8) to read as follows: |
|
|
(8) "Business day" means a day other than a: |
|
|
(A) Saturday or Sunday; |
|
|
(B) national holiday under Section 662.003(a); |
|
|
or |
|
|
(C) state holiday described by Section |
|
|
662.004(b). |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to a request for public information received by a governmental body |
|
|
or officer for public information on or after the effective date of |
|
|
this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
