A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the duration of a special open hunting season for game |
|
|
animals and certain game birds restricted to persons under 17 years |
|
|
old. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 61.058, Parks and Wildlife Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (c) to read as follows: |
|
|
(c) A special open season under this section may not be |
|
|
shorter than seven consecutive days. This subsection does not |
|
|
apply to a special open season under this section for migratory game |
|
|
birds or waterfowl. |
|
|
SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date |
|
|
of this Act, the Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt or amend |
|
|
rules as necessary to comply with the changes in law made by this |
|
|
Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
